What kind of bread for vegans will be appropriate and will you find something for yourself in our brand offer? We rush with answers to these questions, although we will tell you in secret now that vegans will surely find something for themselves in the Galicia brand's offer.

Bread for vegans - is the bread vegan?

It depends. It is usually assumed that the simpler the composition of bread and other bread, the greater the probability that it does not contain animal ingredients. The basic version of the baking process uses: flour, water, salt and yeast. However, it happens that producers - to diversify the flavors - add animal ingredients to the baking, i.e. butter, honey, eggs, dairy products. These additions make the bread no longer vegan. If, when buying bread, rolls or crispbread, you have doubts about its vegan composition, see the label on the back of the package or ask the seller about the exact composition of the bread you buy. Of course, at the beginning of your vegan journey, you may stumble, but don't worry! Everyone started out sometime. If you mistakenly eat bread that has traces of eggs in it - don't worry, next time it will be better!

Vegan bread - what can't vegan bread contain?

When analyzing the composition of the bread you plan to buy - check if it does not include:

  • butter,
  • buttermilk and other dairy products,
  • food gelatin,
  • honey and other bee products.

The composition of the bread also includes ingredients such as lecithin, monoglycerides, and diglycerides. These products are usually 100% vegan, but it is better to confirm this fact, because, for example, lecithin, although usually obtained from soybeans, can also be obtained from eggs. Monoglycerides and diglycerides are fats that make the bread texture better and keep it fresh for longer. These fats come from soybean oil, but there may be times when manufacturers get them from animal fat. For your own clear conscience and peace of mind, it is worth checking these issues before buying specific bread, rolls or crispbread.
